Campus Mail/Package Delivery
Where do we deliver?
The post office delivers departmental items to 21 locations on campus as outlined on the map. The delivery route typically begins at approximately 8:30 a.m. with the Operations Center and ends just before noon at the Davis House. The route runs Monday-Friday excluding holidays.
What can be delivered?
All business-related mail and packages will be delivered by the postal staff except heavy or bulky items that one person cannot reasonably handle. The post office will contact departments that need to ask for maintenance deliveries for heavier or larger items and you will need to put in a maintenance service request.
Can the post office staff pick up outbound mail/packages at my office?
As long as your mail/package is in the designated tub before the driver arrives at your stop we will be glad to take it back to the post office for processing. Larger mailings or packages should be brought directly to the post office window as the driver will not have room to handle this while they are on the route. Keep in mind that mail/packages brought back by the driver will not leave campus until the following business day.
Can mail/packages be held at the post office during breaks?
Yes, the administrative assistant or department chair/dean can make arrangements to have items held when your office is closed. Email or phone (7908) the post office and make arrangements. Only the requestor can cancel a mail/package hold.
Can print work or supplies be delivered?
Yes, indicate "ship to site" on your job ticket and the print shop will stage it for delivery the day after it is printed. Keep in mind that items like exams require a department signature to ensure the integrity of the chain of custody. Also remember that delivery adds time to when you receive your job so if you need it soon you may want to choose "hold for pickup" instead.
