Mailing and Shipping Charges
How much will I be charged?
While the post office doesn't charge labor for services, all postage and shipping will be billed back. We
have negotiated rates with carriers to get you the least expensive rates for mail and shipping.
We often see 50-60% off of retail prices for shipping and we utilize software to rate shop for the best option to meet
your delivery time requirements. Rest assured that we work hard to keep postage/shipping costs as low as possible
for the university and your department. You can reach out to the post office in advance of any mailings/shipping for
specific information regarding your costs.
How will I be charged?
If you are a campus department, you will be billed through the general ledger (GL) at the start of each month for
the previous month's charges. You do not need to do anything, the charge will be posted to your GL account
through the business office. You may have several charges based on activity. We bill back for:
- Postage applied through the postage meter
- Fedex,UPS,USPS, or other Carrier shipping
- Business Reply and Postage Due Charges
- Bulk mail entry for Non-Profit Direct Mail
I have a postage charge that I wasn't expecting. What do I do?
We can access some information for packages or non-profit mailing charges, but mail that is metered only gives us
quantity, date, and account billing information.
If you have questions, reach out to the post office (7908 or postoffice@cedarville.edu) and we will be glad to see if
we can find information for you.
