Mail Processing

How do I submit mail to the post office?

You have two ways to submit mail.

At the Post Office: The post office is located on the lower level of the Stevens Student Center.  Mail can be dropped at the

post office window on weekdays between 8a-4:30p during in-session hours. There are also after-hours drop slots for campus

mail and USPS mail to the right of  the post office window in the wall if you need to drop something after hours. During summers

and breaks, you can drop mail between 10a-4p.

Through the Delivery Route: Department letter mail can be placed in mail tubs and will be picked up during the daily mail

route. The account billed will be based on the tub the mail comes from unless you indicate something different.

We have department mailing slips with your account number preprinted available for your convenience.  Contact the post office

if you need to refresh your supply.

I have a large mailing, how do I handle this?

If this is your first time doing a large mailing, please call the post office (7908) and speak with someone before the production of

your job so that we can assist you in making sure that your mailing meets United States Postal Services (USPS) mailing

regulations and your budget for the mailing.  We will work with you to plan the most cost-efficient way to meet your delivery time

requirements.  After this, you will need to submit a mail service request to get your job into our production cue and allow us time

to make sure we have funding available with the USPS.

What types of mail can you handle?

We are a full-service mail processing center with the ability to process all mail needs for the campus.  Certified mail, first-class

postage, non-profit automation mail, and expedited services are offered. Please reach out to post office staff with any questions

you may have.

Can I drop personal mail at the campus post office?

Faculty/Staff:  The primary responsibility of the campus post office is for University business and to serve our residential

students. While we can make occasional exceptions personal items should be directed to your home.  Please do not ever use

the campus address on personal gift registries.

Students:  We are glad to assist you with your personal mailing and shipping needs, however, we encourage you to create a

shipping label online for outbound shipping when possible.  All packages need to be ship-ready with appropriate addressing.

Always include your return address so that if there is a problem we can contact you.  The campus post office is not equipped to

deal with inbound/outbound shipping for students running personal businesses.  Please use the downtown post office for this

type of shipping need.
